Poi

Poi was used many years ago by the Maori people of New Zealand (Poi is Maori for ball) to increase their flexibility and strength in their hands and arms as well as to improve coordination.

Poi (pronounced Poy) is essentially a ball on a string. You take one in each hand and through the movement of your hands and arms, spin the two balls in a variety of ways - all with varying degrees of difficulty - around your body. Visually attractive, very relaxing, good exercise and spectacular - especially if you are using fire Poi.
